Ripon Market Place

As summer officially draws to a close in 2026, we will be hosting our outdoor marquee and stalls in one of the most prominent locations, the marketplace in Ripon. Located right in the middle of this city on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales, for three days over the 29th, 30th and 31st August, our marquee will be in place and welcoming visitors from right across Yorkshire and beyond.

Ripon is a cathedral city and as such attracts thousands of visitors each year who come to see not only the historic buildings, but also the marketplace, which has played host to local stalls for well over 1300 years! It’s actually one of the oldest markets in England, and the tradition still continues in 2026 with our huge outdoor marquee housing exciting stalls filled with local produce and handcrafted items.

The city is a top destination for both local Yorkshire residents and tourists, with day visitors able to navigate the street layout and ample parking closeby. You can be sure that when you display with us, you’ll get high footfall as visitors will often combine their shopping and sightseeing with a nosey around our marquee stalls, all under the shadow of the huge Ripon Cathedral, which dates back to 1547.

The event will take place in the central market square, and as it’s surrounded by lots of big chain stores as well as independent retailers and cafes, likely that there will already be a lot of visitors on the last weekend just before the schools go back. Visitors to the marketplace will be a mixture of local residents excited to discover the stalls on offer, as well as tourists and daytrippers who might be coupling a stop in Ripon with late-summer adventures in the Dales.

What’s more, the local Ripon Racecourse will also be hosting a Bank Holiday Family Day on the 31st August, so it’s expected that this will flood the city with even more visitors than usual for the final day of our event.

• Ability to set up a gazebo of your own outside of the marquee
• Free lighting as well as electricity to run your stall
• Refreshments like tea and coffee provided free to all exhibitors
• Ability to set up your stall the day before so you’re ready to go
• We offer lots of advertising, including 15,000 leaflets, road signs and social media
• You’ll be able to set up easily on our wooden floor within the marquee
• Central positioning on the Ripon marketplace for maximum footfall
